Details
During the formative years of the Church, the personality of David Patten had a great bearing upon its members. Called to be a member of the first Quorum of Twelve Apostles - and later named as its President - Elder Patten was a dynamic missionary and spokesman who left his impression upon the lives of the early Saints. His life was highlighted by miracles, healings, and acts of faith which frequently served as inspiration for others. After having expressed his desire to die as a martyr for the cause of the Church, he was killed at the Battle of Crooked River while leading the LDS defenders at Far West, Missouri. Because of David Patten's affect upon the life of President Lorenzo Snow (Elder Patten introduced him to the Church) President Snow wrote the Introduction to this book. 72 pages
